Debit card safety notice for FNNB Bank debit card holders:
Phishing attacks aim to dupe cardholders into releasing sensitive information that can be used for identity theft. These attacks are on the rise especially during the holiday season.
We are hearing about a scenario in which a fraudster sends a text message to a cardholder, requesting they can call an 800 number because their account is “frozen or blocked.” When the cardholder calls the number, they are asked to enter their card number or other personal information such as a PIN, social security number or mobile device codes.
Shazam will NEVER ask for card numbers or other personal details.
Shazam’s short code for sending SMS messages is 72718. The Shazam fraud team number is 866-508-2693. Cardholders can always call FNNB Bank at 641-792-3010 during normal business hours.
